Dying for a poo – constipation and people with learning disabilities

Constipation can kill. And it is a condition which can affect up to half of all people with learning disabilities. That’s why the Learning into Action working group on constipation wants to get more people talking about the problem.

This newsletter from the Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme explores identifying and diagnosing constipation in a person with learning disabilities, as well as prevention and treatment. It also includes a case study on Richard who died from constipation and other information relating to constipation and people with learning disabilities.
