Full title: Functional Constipation and Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation: how to diagnose and manage the patients in clinical practice.
Description: Functional constipation is a condition with an estimated population prevalence of 16%, characterised by infrequent bowel movements, hard stools and straining when passing stool. In a considerable proportion of patients, functional constipation overlaps with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C), which is characterised by abdominal pain associated with the altered bowel habit.
The differentiation of these two subgroups of patients is relevant in clinical practice, as the management of IBS-C needs to target both constipation and abdominal pain. This webinar will teach how to differentiate patients with functional constipation from IBS-C and how to manage these patients, providing simple tips for the clinical practice.
