BSG guidelines: The diagnosis and management of adult coeliac disease

Apr 20, 2018

This document was originally published on the British Society of Gastroenterology website and can be viewed here.

The aim of the document was to create updated guidelines for the management of adult coeliac disease (CD), but non-coeliac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) was not considered. It provides the reader with an appraisal of the current indications, study performance characteristics, clinical utility, strengths and limitations of the most widely available tests of anorectal structure (ultrasonography and MRI) and function (anorectal manometry, neurophysiological investigations, rectal distension techniques and tests of evacuation, including defecography).
